Kinesis Myofascial Integration is beneficial for individuals who suffer from chronic pain, those struggling to recover from injuries, or for people who are looking to improve their posture.
Unburdening the connective tissue of the body is deep work that allows for liberated movement and improved physical functioning as a whole.
Developed by Tom Myers, the Kinesis Myofascial Integration series consists of twelve 60 minute sessions. The progression, referred to as the Twelve Series, begins with four sessions that focus on the superficial layers of the body. This preliminary work frees the muscles and fascia on the front, back, and sides of the body and addresses the compensating postural habits we have developed due to a deep pattern that we are most likely unaware of.
The following four sessions focus on the core of the body which is responsible for stabilization. This is where our deep postural habits are held and where we work to release those habits to put you into a more structurally stable posture. The final four sessions integrate the cumulative changes stemming from these releases into daily movement patterns. This is where we reeducate the body to be able to hold itself in gravity, while continuing to maintain the releases we obtained in the first eight sessions.
Often the only time the body is recognized as more than a tool to shuttle us from one task to the next is when we experience pain. Frequently this is a result of a physical pattern that has damaged our structure without us even being aware of it. KMI not only brings more awareness into the body, but also works to establish a more stable foundation to help break free from unhealthy postural habits.
